How do I set up notifications?

The notifications feature which is included in Viewer for AXIS Camera Companion is a very useful feature as it will send you notifications if there is any motion whilst the app is running in the background. You can schedule these notifications to only happen at certain times of the day, certain days of the week and also at certain intervals. To gain access to the notifications feature within the app you will need to purchase the notifications in-app purchase. The cost of this purchase is $2.99/£1.99/€2.69.

To set up the notifications feature you will need to open the Viewer for AXIS Camera Companion app and log into your site using the details you created on the PC app. Once you have logged in you should select the camera that you want notifications to appear for.

Once you've chosen the camera and loaded it, you should press the settings button and choose 'Notifications'. This will open a new window with all the settings you'll need to set up notifications.

The first thing you need to do is enable notifications by moving the slider to the 'On' position.

Other settings that you can change include Activation Timeout, Activation Schedule and Activation Days. Below is an explanation of each of these:

• Activation Timeout - This is the time that the app waits between sending notifications. Only one notification will be sent every x-amount of minutes. Any motion during this period will be ignored. The options available are:

+ 3 mins.
+ 5 mins.
+ 10 mins.

• Activation Schedule - This allows you to choose a start time and an end time and this is the hours between which the app will send notifications. The app will not send notifications outside of the hours chosen.

• Activation Days - This lets you choose which days of the week you would like notifications to be sent. You will not receive notifications on any of the days that are unchecked.

You can choose the start and end time using the time selector wheel. You can access this by tapping on the start or end time.

Once you’ve changed everything you wish to change you can tap close and carry on using the app. You will begin receiving motion notifications immediately.
